Biddenden Vineyard celebrates 50 years of English wine

One of our sponsors, Biddenden Vineyards’ 50th anniversary year kicked off last month with a Biddenden sparkling wine & Kentish afternoon tea and evening celebration for over 400 specially invited guests, including Tractorfest’s Sue Boon and Barbara Ellison, who have been part of the vineyards’ journey over the last 5 decades.

Tractorfest Dog Shows
A recent study of 2,000 adults found that dog owners walk an average of 870 miles a year, which not only revealed they tend to be fitter than non-dog owners, but that they also have overall improved levels of mental health and reduced stress levels ( source The Independent). Most recently the profile photo of Biddenden Community page was changed to display a number of Biddenden dog owners with their dogs – brought together in one place for a photoshoot. And what a healthy looking bunch they were too.

Rocking it at Tractorfest in 2019
Anyone who came to Biddenden Tractorfest and Country Fair last year cannot have missed some of the wonderful performances from the Rockits (formally the known as the Tuesdays) and the Rubies rock and pop Choirs founded and run by Max Wilson. Combining the feel good factor of singing, meeting new friends and doing things never dreamed possible, they rock it to their own original arrangements of uplifting songs past and present.

More Success for Tractorfest
Tractorfest 2017 broke records: 11,500 people visited over the two days, up from about 10,000 the previous year. And the amount raised that year for good causes was £24,500.

This year, in new fields at Woolpack Corner – thank you Andrew Neve – and after months of record breaking heat, we broke even more records with over 17,000 visitors through the gates, more tractor exhibits than any other show and raised a sum of 32k which was donated in December to 33 various clubs, associations, societies, groups, facilities and registered charities, which are, in the main, local.
